A shoe house, not a shoe brand
John White has been putting men in good shoes since 1919, out of Northamptonshire, the heart of English shoemaking. The company is headquartered at Higham Ferrers today. We design the lasts, choose the leather and set the specification, then work with the makers who can hold it. The name has been on the box for over a hundred years, which is a long time to keep getting it wrong.
What you are paying for
Leather, top to bottom
Look inside a cheap shoe and you find fabric. Look inside ours and you find a full leather lining and a removable leather insole, because leather moulds to your foot and fabric does not. Polished calf uppers, clean stitching, and a sole chosen for the weather the shoe is meant for.
Shoes and boots
Chelsea boots, chukkas, Oxfords, derbies, loafers
Boots for the wet half of the year and shoes for the rest of it. The Brecon Chelsea in polished calf, the Castle chukka, the Guildhall capped Oxford, the Monkton double monk. Whole UK sizes across the range, and free returns if the fit is not right.
