Office and business wear. The full brogue Derby works well in business-casual and smart-business environments. Pair with mid-grey, navy, or brown tailoring. Tan and Brown suit lighter cloth; Black sits better against darker business suits.

Weekends and casual. Worn with chinos, cord trousers, or heritage denim, all three colourways carry well. The studded rubber sole handles varied surfaces, making the Stokes a practical choice beyond the office.

Formal events. Appropriate for country weddings, a day at the races, or a smart dinner where relaxed formality is expected. Tan and Brown suit traditional country-formal dress codes; Black extends the range toward smarter city occasions.

Not formal enough for. Black-tie or white-tie events. For very dark formal suits at strict-dress-code occasions, a plain cap-toe Oxford remains the conventional choice over a full brogue.

Snug at first is correct. The full leather lining will bed in with wear, gradually conforming to your foot. A snug fit on first wear is expected and will ease naturally.

Wide forefoot or high instep? The 4-eyelet Derby opening gives a generous instep, which typically accommodates a wider forefoot comfortably at your usual size.

All sizes are full UK sizes — we do not stock half sizes. If you normally wear a half size in other brands — for example UK 8.5 — choose the full size above (UK 9). The leather lining will adapt to your foot over time.

After each wear. Brush with a horsehair brush to remove surface dust and dirt. This takes 30 seconds and prevents grime building up in the leather grain.

Every 3–4 wears. Wipe down with a slightly damp cloth and allow to dry naturally at room temperature — never use direct heat. Apply a thin layer of leather conditioner to keep the leather supple. Follow with a colour-matched wax polish (we recommend JW Premium Wax Polish), applied in small circular motions. Allow to haze for 10 minutes, then buff with a horsehair brush and soft cloth for shine. Use Tan or Brown polish for the respective colourways; Black polish for the Black.

Storage and rotation. Insert cedar shoe trees immediately after wearing to absorb moisture, hold shape, and prevent creasing. Rotate your shoes and allow at least 24 hours between wears.
