Guildhall Brown Capped Oxfords (Imperfect)

Office and business wear. The 6-eyelet capped Oxford is a standard of business dress. The Guildhall in Brown reads as smart-professional alongside tailored trousers or a dark suit, and holds its own in client-facing settings.

Weekends and casual. Brown calf leather pairs well with chinos, moleskin trousers, or dark denim. The clean Oxford silhouette keeps a weekend look considered rather than overdressed.

Formal events. Suitable for weddings, evening dinners, or formal ceremonies where a polished Oxford is expected. Brown works best at daytime and outdoor formal occasions rather than black-tie.

Not formal enough for. Black-tie and white-tie dress codes call for black Oxfords. The Brown colourway is not appropriate for those occasions.

Order your everyday UK size. The Guildhall fits true to size. Order the same UK size you wear in most shoes.

Snug at first is correct. The supple leather lining will mould to your foot over the first several wears. Initial snugness across the toe box is normal and expected.

Wide forefoot or high instep? If you have a notably wide forefoot or high instep, consider whether the next full size up (e.g. UK 9 rather than UK 8) gives you adequate room. Use the free 30-day returns window if unsure.

All sizes are full UK sizes; we do not stock half sizes. If you normally wear a half size in other brands (e.g. UK 8.5), order UK 9, the full size above. The leather lining will accommodate the slight difference as it beds in.

Fit: True to size; 6-eyelet capped Oxford last. Full UK sizes only (UK 6–13). Imperfect stock: new and unworn, minor cosmetic blemish only, structural integrity unaffected.

After each wear. Brush with a horsehair brush to remove surface dust and dirt. Thirty seconds of brushing prevents grime settling into the leather grain.

Every 3–4 wears. Wipe down with a slightly damp cloth and allow to dry naturally at room temperature. Apply a thin layer of leather conditioner, then polish with a colour-matched Brown wax polish using small circular motions. Allow to haze for ten minutes, then buff with a horsehair brush and soft cloth. Never use direct heat to dry leather shoes.

Storage and rotation. Insert cedar shoe trees immediately after wearing to absorb moisture, hold shape, and prevent creasing. Rotate your shoes and allow at least 24 hours between wears.
