Office and business wear. The polished calf leather upper and Chelsea silhouette sit comfortably alongside tailored trousers, a lounge suit, or a blazer. Both Black and Brown work for business settings.

Weekends and casual. The clean profile pairs naturally with dark or indigo denim. Brown lends itself to more relaxed weekend outfits; Black keeps things sharper.

Formal events. Suitable for smart events, weddings (guest), and evening occasions when worn with a lounge suit. Black is the stronger choice for more formal dress codes.

Not formal enough for. Black tie, white tie, or any occasion requiring a patent or Oxford dress shoe. The studded rubber sole, whilst smart, places this firmly in smart-casual to lounge-suit territory.

Order your everyday UK size. The Brecon is true to size. Order the same UK size you wear in most leather footwear.

Snug at first is correct. The calf leather lining and upper will soften and bed in with wear. Some initial snugness across the forefoot is expected and normal.

Wide forefoot or high instep? If you have a wide forefoot, consider ordering one full size above your usual — for example, UK 9 rather than your usual UK 8. The leather will mould but does not stretch significantly across the width.

All sizes are full UK sizes — we do not stock half sizes. If you normally wear a half size in other brands — for example, a UK 9.5 — order the full size above: UK 10. Free 30-day UK returns are available if the fit needs adjusting.

Construction: Storm welt with contrast stitch. Designed by JWS to its own specification — built for comfort and longevity
Fit: True to size. Elastic gusset and rear pull-loop for secure, easy entry. Full UK sizes UK 6–13 only.

After each wear. Brush with a horsehair brush to remove surface dust and dirt. This takes 30 seconds and prevents grime building up in the leather grain.

Every 3–4 wears. Wipe down with a slightly damp cloth and allow to dry naturally at room temperature — never use direct heat. Apply a thin layer of leather conditioner to keep the calf leather supple. Follow with a colour-matched wax polish (Black or Brown as appropriate — we recommend JW Premium Wax Polish) using small circular motions. Allow to haze for 10 minutes, then buff with a horsehair brush and soft cloth for shine.

Storage and rotation. Insert cedar shoe trees immediately after wearing to absorb moisture, hold the boot's shape, and prevent creasing. Allow at least 24 hours between wears and rotate with other footwear.
