New Year, New Shoes, New You!

2018 is here and it’s time to consider how you want to keep up to date with the latest styles, looks and fashion footwear must haves for the new year. Acquiring new shoes at the beginning of the year is a great statement of intent of taking your first steps into a successful 12 months ahead.

Therefore we have picked our favourite footwear selection for modern and traditional gentleman for the New Year!

Stay on trend with our selection of men’s shoes below:

Charles Loafers

Charles, a popular pick in the last 12 months. This style of shoe has become a modern trend setter for casual outfits. With no socks, jeans, chinos or even shorts, tassel loafers are a perfect pairing for the contemporary smart-casual look. However for the traditionalists, a tassel loafer is also a statement piece of pure elegance for formal attire that will never go out of fashion.

Stables Chelsea Boots

A staple piece of men’s footwear, our Stables boots offer versatility that can be dressed up or down for any occasion throughout this New Year. Classic tan or black ensure enough choice to match with navy, grey or black trousers and of course for a more laid back approach either will smarten a pair of jeans.

Charter Brogues

A favourite for weddings as well as the office, these semi-brogues offer sophistication of the highest level. An elegant leather sole and precise brogue detailing make a real impression that we recommend for those smarter more formal days.

Shoe care this Winter

Snow, it doesn’t happen very often across the whole of the UK, but when it does it usually catches us by surprise. One of the worst things is not being prepared with right sort of clothing. We should all have a winter coat, hat and gloves at the ready anyway, but we do not always consider footwear. Make sure you’re prepared for the wintery conditions with a pair of sturdy brogue boots such as our Bourton tan, which with a thick studded rubber sole will keep your feet comfortable in the dropping winter temperatures.

With these changing conditions its also important to look after the shoes on your feet with regular protection and upkeep. Here are some guidelines for looking after your shoes to ensure that they retain their excellent appearance and comfort in wear for years to come.

Leather Shoes

Leather shoes need regular cleaning and care with wax polishes or shoe cream. Select the closest colour to your shoe – if in doubt use a natural shade. Before polishing remove all surface dirt and dust with a damp cloth then ensure that the shoes are dry before starting.

Suede Shoes

Due to the fine nap of these leathers, extra care should be taken when cleaning. Gentle use of a suede brush with a suede cleaner will remove most stains. If your shoes get wet, let them dry naturally at room temperature, and then brush them gently with a suede brush.
